Indulging in a Meal at the Mamak and Socialising at the Club with Bolton and Robin

A third space can be somewhere we go to spend time alone with ourselves, or it can be a location that we enjoy with friends. For Bolton and Robin, they share two third spaces that give them the chance to socialise and catch up with their mates, an experience that can sometimes get lost in their day-to-day schedules. The first third space is one that many Malaysians would be familiar with – the mamak. Not only do they retreat to their favourite mamak restaurant to chow down, it also acts as the meeting point for their diverse group of friends to sit down at the end of a long day and just talk about whatever is going on in their lives. Towards the end of the week, Bolton and Robin visit their second third space – the club. The flashing lights and booming music of their favourite clubbing spots allow them to turn off any stressors and simply enjoy the social atmosphere and enjoy the DJ’s song selection for the night.

Bolton and Robin’s third spaces truly show that this concept is fluid and is not constrained by age, jobs, or even the type of experience the location offers. Socialising and dining out are known stress-relievers, while the club offers the chance to meet new people and to immerse oneself in the satisfying sounds of their favourite songs.
